01 · Optics
A clear, distortion-free image with a wide field of view and strong depth perception. The barrels flip up out of your sightline whenever you need normal vision.
02 · Magnification
For those who favour field of view and depth of vision: general surgeons, urologists and hygienists.
Each pair is built to one fixed magnification. Your specialist will help you choose at a fitting.

03 · Posture
Deflection prisms redirect the optical path, much like working with a microscope. Your eyes stay level, helping you hold a natural, upright posture through long procedures.
04 · Fit
Pupillary distance, working distance, height and angle are all adjustable. They are set at your fitting and can be reset whenever your eyesight or setup changes.
52–78 mm pupillary distance25–70 cm working distance
Four things the optical design does differently from conventional loupes.
01
A lightweight frame with balanced weight distribution, so the loupes sit evenly and stay comfortable through long procedures rather than dragging on your nose.
02
Japanese optics give a sharp, distortion-free image across a wide field, with the depth perception fine work needs. At 2.5× the field of view is 141 mm.
03
Conventional loupes converge your eyes toward a single close point. PENTAX Loupes are built for parallel viewing instead, designed to reduce eye convergence and help support an upright working posture.
04
Flip the barrels out of the way to switch instantly between magnified and normal vision, without taking the frame off.
Every measurement that matters is adjustable. Set once at your fitting, then revisited as your eyesight or working posture changes.
Set to match your height, your chair and the way you sit or stand at work.
Position the barrels for a natural line of sight, then lock them in.
Matched to your own eyes, not a factory average.
Wear your glasses underneath, fit a prescription insert, or use the frame on its own.
Magnification is fixed and does not correct your everyday vision. There are three ways to pair PENTAX Loupes with your prescription.
Five fixed magnifications, each with its own field of view. Magnification is set when the loupes are built and does not change.

The best way to understand PENTAX Loupes is to wear them.
Request a demoFive quick choices. A UK specialist prepares your personalised quote; prices come directly from them, not from a list.
Thanks. A PENTAX Loupes specialist will be in touch within 24 hours with your personalised quote.
Send an enquiry or build your loupes below. It takes about a minute.
A specialist contacts you to discuss magnification, working distance and fit.
We arrange a demonstration and fitting with you in the UK.
A private page and a QR card in the case, holding your setup, your care guidance and a one-tap line to the UK team. It stays yours for as long as you wear them.
Magnification, working distance and pupillary distance are recorded as they are set.
Scan it with any phone. No app, no account, no password.
A quick check-in, a support request, or an invitation for a colleague to see for themselves.
A precision instrument deserves better aftercare than a receipt in a drawer. The passport is how a PENTAX pair stays a PENTAX pair, for you and for whoever wears it next.
If you ever want to sell your loupes on, the passport is how it's done: the record is transferred to the new owner, who gets their own fitting and the same UK support, and the pair stays a genuine, traceable PENTAX. Sold without it, a pair is just a second-hand pair.
A passported pair is a genuine PENTAX pair supplied through the UK team and covered by the manufacturer's warranty. No grey imports, no guesswork about where it came from. That protects you, and it protects the name on the frame.
A slipping nose pad, a headlight question, a fitting that needs a tweak: one tap on your passport reaches a real person, with your setup already in front of them.
Magnification, working distance and pupillary distance are recorded at your fitting, so re-fits, adjustments and accessories start from your numbers rather than from scratch.
Cleaning, handling and storage guidance for your pair lives on your page, so the optics stay sharp for years and the adjustments made at your fitting stay put.
No app, no account, no password. A card in the case and a link that is yours alone, for as long as you wear them.
Tell us a little about your work and we'll arrange a fitting and demonstration, or put you directly in touch with a loupe specialist.

Loupes are small magnifying optical instruments, typically worn as eyeglasses. They give a close-up view of fine detail that's difficult to see with the naked eye, and are widely used for precision work.
Dentists, prosthodontists and dental hygienists, surgeons, hair transplant specialists, permanent makeup artists, veterinary surgeons, and other professionals whose work requires enhanced close-up vision.
Through-the-lens (TTL) loupes are fixed and custom-fitted, with pupillary distance set at the factory. Front-lens-mounted loupes clip in front of separate eyeglasses. PENTAX Loupes are flip-up loupes: pupillary distance and working distance can be adjusted by the user, and the loupes can flip out of the way for regular vision.
No. Magnification is fixed at manufacture, giving a consistent, predictable level of magnification. Pupillary distance and working distance are user-adjustable, which matters because eyesight and working posture change over time.
2.5×, 3.0×, 3.5×, 4.0× and 5.0×, each with a different field of view. See the magnification range section above for the full comparison.
As a general guide: dentists commonly use 2.5×–3.5× (aesthetic dentists often use 5.0×); surgeons typically use 3.5×–5.0× or higher; veterinary surgeons typically use 2.5×–3.5×, depending on procedure and patient size. Individual preference and task complexity also play a part. Speak to a specialist for guidance specific to your work.
Yes. Optional LED lights are available in wired and wireless configurations, attaching to the loupes for additional illumination in low-light conditions. If you already own a compatible LED light, contact us; different brackets are available for different light brands.
There are three options. Many users don't need separate glasses at all, since the loupes are independently adjustable to your vision. Alternatively, the adjustable nose pad can be set to create room to wear your own glasses underneath. A third option is a custom prescription insert clip that fits the PENTAX frame directly, so no separate glasses are required.
Price depends on magnification level and options such as LED lighting or a prescription insert. Build your loupes above or request a demonstration, and our team will prepare a personalised quotation.
Trial availability depends on the specific retailer or distributor. Get in touch and we'll let you know what's possible for a demonstration or fitting.
Magnification, working distance, pupillary distance, frame colour and any lens options are all discussed as part of a fitting. Build your loupes above or request a demonstration and a specialist will guide you through the choices.
Yes. Both are user-adjustable on PENTAX Loupes, so the fit can be revisited as your eyesight or working posture changes, without returning the loupes to the factory.
